San Andrés, An Island of Sports

Thanks to its spectacular sea and its beaches, San Andrés has become, in recent years, one of the most desirable places to practice water sports; This is why beach ball, water skiing, beach soccer, motor sports, beach rugby, surfing, triathlon, sailing and beach volleyball find their place on this renowned island.

In 2013 the first National Sea and Beach Sports Games were held, where 843 athletes from different municipalities of Colombia participated, which has contributed to the foundation of sports modalities and the economic, social and environmental development of the island.
In the past few days, in the framework of the commemoration of the fourteenth anniversary of the ARC Naval Base “San Andres”, this important component of the National Navy's logistical support developed sports competitions among the military personnel of the National Navy, the National Army and the Colombian Air Force that are present in the Archipelago.

In the facilities of the Base, competitions such as football, volleyball, shooting, shuffleboard and table tennis were held, where several teams made up of men and women met in a healthy competition to demonstrate their sports skills.
